I walked the Camino Santiago (Camino Frances) in 2003, one of the most rewarding, and yet also the most hard, journeys I have ever undertaken. Walking the Camino is (or was) a highly spiritual experience, and it’s not surprising that the ‘pilgrims’ are regarded with respect in Spain, and are often emotional by the time they reach Santiago.
