This mini-blog stream is a successor to my previous Control Culture listing, now more up to date with the pressing need to recognise the agencies and actions at work in an increasingly powerful (and not necessarily benign) state. I am not just talking about autocracies here, but also the established democracies of the West, where a kind of creeping corruption appears to be taking root and undermining many of the democratic principles that some of us thought, and still think of, as essential.
